My career path to SF State:
My journey to higher education has been an interesting one. I had no idea this is where I would be when I departed American Express over 9 years ago. But, as we always talk about to our students, networking is important. The same person who hired me at UC Davis Graduate School of Management hired me to become the first Executive Director at the SFSU College of Business. I get so excited to engage with student and industry partners while creating meaningful and relevant connections for both. When I started at CSLD in January of 2017 I invisoned we would be where we are now. An amazing team serving an amazing population of students and alums. Bringing my business experiences from the likes of Hewlett Packard, Xerox, Gartner and American Express to benefit SFSU is rewarding to say the least.
First Job/ Weirdest Job/ Worst Job:
My first job was as a paperboy at 12. I had a very large route and you can best belive that I rocked it. Up at 4:30-5:00 a.m. to bind and sling those newspapers. Then back home to get ready for school. It taught me discipline that I use to this very day. I was also able to start buying my own clothing and that was a major plus. Oh yeah!
What I like to do on the weekends:
I enjoy my family time and I also teach Sunday School too. Being a golf junkie is the best and worst. It's such a glorious and humbling game to play. One hole you feel like you could be a pro and the next swing you look awful. But hey, I try to only remember the good shots. LOL.
