My career path to SF State:

My journey to SF State began shortly after I graduated from High School in 2004. I went to Skyline Community College in San Bruno for time. A year later, I dropped out of college and joined the U.S. Navy for eight years. In 2013, I left the U.S. Navy to pursue the my Bachelors in Africana Studies & English Literature and my Masters in Ethnic Studies.

First Job/ Weirdest Job/ Worst Job:

My first job was working at Century 20 in Daly City. I cleaned movie theaters and tore up tickets. This was a job I loved the most. I saw many great movies for free. The highlights are X-Men 2, The Matrix Reloaded and 2 Fast 2 Furious.

What I like to do on the weekends:

In order for me to disconnect from the work and sometimes the world I watch cartoons. My favorite cartoons to watch are X-Men the Animated Series. Batman Beyond and Spider-Man the Animated Series.

Top Advice For A New Student:

What is your endgame? As you prepare to leave SF State and pursue other ventures think about why you are going those routes. Think about how your endgame affects your own personal identity, quality of life, and self-esteem. Do you have the cultural awareness or knowledge of social structures to pursue the route you take.
